One of the town’s most magnificent buildings, the Town Hall Centre proudly wears its history like badges of honour. This Georgian style building is now available to house events of all occasions. This beautiful building wears well its years of history, standing stoically through all seasons, and would add an unforgettable element to any wedding, conference meeting, or award ceremony.

The hall was presented to the town by William Courtald for the purpose of initiating great municipal work in Braintree. Beautiful murals, which can also be found in the art exhibit at
Braintree Museum¬†cover the ceilings in the main rooms, rich stained glass colors the sunlight that falls on the stonework floors, wrought iron railing lines the staircase, and solid walnut paneling lines the Chairman’s room in testament to the prestige of the position.

The building is capped with a clock tower with four faces, so that the time can be seen from all directions. A small figure stands on the pinnacle bidding the town to “Hold to the Truth.” A further description of the clock can be found here.
